Michelle is one of the first voices a client will hear when they take the first step to call our facility. She understands the shame, confusion, and fear that someone feels and does her best to complete the screening with compassion. One of her favorite things about working admissions is that if Serenity Park isn’t the best fit for the client we provide multiple referrals. “I love working at a place that believes in helping people above all else.”

Michelle first entered recovery in 2020 and after 2.5 treatment centers was able to find her footing in consistent sobriety. One of the things that first gave her hope while in treatment was the encouragement she received when expressing interest in working in the field. Nothing could compare to the power of one Alcoholic/Addict talking to another. After completing treatment she attended an Intensive outpatient program and moved into a sober living, eventually becoming a house manager for a year until she was ready to provide a safe and consistent home for her daughter Noah. Through working her program of recovery she completed the steps, participates in her home group, carries the message and is involved in Young people in AA events. Her favorite quote was one she learned in rehab “ For a seed to achieve its greatest expression, it must come completely undone. The shell cracks, its insides come out and everything changes. To someone who doesn't understand growth, it would look like complete destruction.”
